BBQ Location Tips
 |
Picking your spot
Avoid windy positions, especially where the gaps between buildings can cause draughts.
- Allow plenty of space around the barbecue.
- Avoid locating the barbecue too near to plants, fences or buildings that may scorch or catch light.
- Whilst the barbecue can be situated on the lawn, it is preferable to use solid ground. It is easier to clean and will take constant trampling better than grass, especially if there has been recent rain.
Safety
- Make sure the barbecue is stable
- Keep away from flammable materials such as wooden fences
- Avoid damaging shrubs and other plants.
- Keep children and pets under control
- Have a fire blanket and water close to hand
- The cook should not be under the influence of alcohol
Plants
- Fragrant, climbing and other plants help to create a relaxing atmosphere, whilst foliage plants help to create a cool restful ambience.
- Flowers can add a touch of romance depending on their colours - whites and blues show up best in the evening light.
